Fishing!

We took the kids fishing for the first time...finally! We found a remote mountain "lake" called Sru Lake that really isn't anything more than a pond, but it's quaint and quiet. It's the one we went hiking around (I blogged about it previously). It's well stocked with trout that are jumping like crazy, and sure enough, the kids had some luck with catching their first fish. Our good friends, the Toveys, joined us in our quest for the big one. Sadly, they were all tiny, but we kept a few and I have to admit, they were good eats, even for someone who doesn't enjoy fish.

Here are Maelin and Talea (they're close to the same age) realing in their catch.

Talea, being a lover of all things slimy, creepy, crawlie, fuzzy, 6-legged or hairy, found it quite amusing to play with her catch.

Zack and Hyatt caught some also.

Moira and Kiersa (a month apart in age) always love hanging out together. Kiersa sees Moira and says "Mo Mo Mo!" (Mo is her nickname).

Hopefully we'll be going back sometime soon for more fishing fun, though I don't know that Debbie will be anxious to travel on the winding roads to get carsick again.

Who names these lakes? Sru!? Duh! And you need to tell Tilly that it's frogs, not fish, that you kiss to get a prince.
