Turning 33.

33 was always my sister, Daisha's, favorite number. Maybe it will bring us luck and we'll have to change our blog name to Johnson Jubilee, or Joyful Johnsons, or some such name that reflects our turn in luck.

For my birthday this year, I just wanted to do a few things.

I wanted to get some canning done since the plums were threatening to wither and die.

I wanted to set up a pool and slip-and-slide for the kids so they could have some summer fun.

And most of all, I wanted to give Hyrum a haircut since his mushroom-head look he's been sporting for the last little while was getting unendurable.

Man, I'm glad I didn't know him in his mullet-wearing days. This is not a style I could live with.

Hyrum was very sweet and got me several things off my wish list that I posted on my blog. I knew it would come in handy! He was able to surprise me with the things I wanted most! Some pampered chef items and some books I wanted. You're very sweet, Hy! He made me yellow cake AND cheese cake since he knows I have a weakness for cake, and he fixed sloppy joes for dinner since he does those so well. I felt very spoiled! He even gave me the day off from work!!! That was my biggest request. Lastly, he put on my favorite movie for us to watch: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Happily, Tilly enjoys it too!

It was a great day, even if I do appear to be a year older than Hyrum, again.

I thought 33 would be a lucky year for me because of all the luck it's always brought me - but no, not really. I'm still in a semi-detached house. Wahh.

Tiana!! I was shocked to hear your birthday wish list! What the...?! Canning plums and giving haircuts!! You need to be spoiled. Luckily Hyrum gave it a good shot on your birthday!
