When we arrived, they hadn't even started moving anything yet. So our stuff sat in the UHaul for a few days. In sub zero temperatures. All my food storage froze solid, including all the wet-pack items I'd canned (peaches, pears, jam, pickles, etc). Needless to say, the pickles have an odd texture now. I'm a little worried about how all the other items will be. I've never frozen my canned goods before and then thawed them.
Luckily, since we had Dallas and Weston with us to help, we were able to use their muscles. On Saturday night (we were flying the boys home on Monday morning), we were able to get in the house finally to start unpacking. The problem was, the house was a mess. They hadn't cleaned anything and the flooring was horrid. It had nasty stains all over, and being a person who can't tolerate carpet with small kids and pets, it had to go. And thank goodness!!! I don't even own a vacuum or a shampooer. There were so many urine stains and piles of dirt (and a fair share of skin and other unmentionables I'm sure) hiding underneath!
We ripped up the carpet and worn kitchen floor

and proceeded to lay new laminate. Much easier maintenance during potty training and sickness.

Hyrum also raised my dishwasher for me and, after ripping out a few oddly placed cabinets, gave me more storage throughout the house. You wouldn't believe how amazingly wonderful it is to have a raised dishwasher! I never want to go back to the standard again!
It turned out nice in the end. It helped to bring the trailer out of the 90's. I painted some walls, but the rest won't be finished for a while I'm sure. And the baseboard trim...well, I suspect that won't be purchased or installed for a long while to come. When nice weather comes again, I'll paint my cabinets white.
In the midst of all the changing and moving throughout the house, Paisli finally decided to learn how to crawl on her hands and knees! She's nearly 10 months old! My late bloomer, but that's okay.

It looks SOOOOOOOOO much better now!
I loved seeing Paisli crawl almost as much as I enjoyed hearing the commentary in the background about someone being kicked in the stomach and vomiting on the sidelines!
